Last night I again played a bit with Jo Hanna’s new kit Moments Captured. (see yesterday’s blog)  It is a masculine kit, but both pages, so far, are about girls.  This time, Ellen and Krista were the subject matter for the page.  The template is from Pom at DSC which she created for this week’s template challenge.

I love the picture of the hug. Such joy!

Happy scrapping and make sure you give someone a hug today!

Jo Hanna’s Creative Team

This morning I woke up to find an e-mail that said I had been selected to Jo Hanna’s creative team.  What a great way to greet a day. Jo Hanna is a fabulous designer with a beautiful array of kits from which to design pages.  I am sooooooooooooo lucky. You can find her shops at Digital Scrap Cafe, Scrapinsider, and Plain Digital Wrapper.

I had actually used her new kit last night for a DSC challenge, so I was ready to go from the instant I received her e-mail.  The kit is called Moments Captured. With black, brown and gray color tones this is a masculine kit but also very usable for all kinds of themes. It  includes 12 papers, a typewriter key alpha and 50+ elements.

Gracie visited last week and I just loved this photo of her and the cute shirt that she was wearing.  In sepia tones, it really worked well with the colors of the kit.  Did you notice the word art on the page?  The kit is full of great phrases.

Handle-with-CareThis is such a nice moment for me.  I hope your day is full of nice moments too.

Aloha from Hawaii 2010

Hawaii's best-known export is not sugar, pineapples, or Kona coffee, but a word: aloha. It is much more than a greeting; on the islands, it is a way of life.   One islander says aloha means "Hello, goodbye, love, compassion, welcome, good wishes. It means belonging to others with a common humanity. It's defined better as a feeling in the heart than by words."

According to, you can get the aloha feeling by

  • Respect your elders and children.
  • Leave places better than you find them.
  • Hold the door. Hold the elevator.
  • Plant something.
  • Drive with courtesy. Let others in.
  • Attend an event of another culture.
  • Return your shopping cart.
  • Get out and enjoy nature.
  • Pick up litter.
  • Share with your neighbors.
  • Create smiles.

Above, we have a perfect example of ALOHA.

I used Mademoiselle from Rio by Lilipruneau to make this page of a bunch of pretty people!

#1 Grandpa

Connor just loves Grandpa.  Here, Dave helps Connor in his movement exploration class.  When I come to the door, he says, “Where’s Grandpa?”  When he is at our house, he will hear Dave’s car pull up and make a bee-line straight to the door.  Such bliss!  They are both enjoying the ride.

Pure Creativity Designs has the perfect kit for all those Dads and Grandpas who are always on the go. Traveling soon?  This kit is perfect for a road trip.  Go Go Go is on sale so speed on over to the Digital Scrap Cafe and pick it up.

Happy scrapping and Happy Father’s Day.

An Anxious Moment

Nicole rolled off of the dive boat to a great surprise-a Giant Mantas.  They are sometimes called the “butterflies of the deep.”  Mantas love SCUBA bubbles.  It may not have been “An Anxious Moment” for Nicole, but it sure is for me!

an anxious moment

Weeds and Wildflower’s 9941C- Shabby Cottage By The Sea, by Patricia Christensen has the perfect elements for nautical pages.

Precious Prasha

What a delightful smile. Sweet Prasha just lights up the room when she enters. She and Dave are buddies. While she was playing in the yard Saturday, she probably said “Hi Dave,” 20 times.

The Great Outdoors

This fun kit, The Great Outdoors, by Weeds and Wildflowers, is so versatile. Inspired by all the different ways to enjoy nature, The Great Outdoors is a perfect compliment to those outdoorsy memories.

Connor and Alex are having a super brother-sister moment in this shot.

Laurie enjoys a brief nature outing as she views the Pacific Ocean from a rock formation in the Olympic Peninsula

If it stops raining a bit, I might even go outside and enjoy the great outdoors.   I hope you get a chance to enjoy nature today as well.

Love You More Than Words

Alex was playing some sort of ball game with Grandpa-catching the baseball in a butterfly net.  She was having a blast and I thought this photo of  her smile truly captured her essence.  I had some fun with this photo.  First I changed it to sepia and then I re-colored the net and extracted it.  The process was a little bit more work, but it made the page pop!

I used Crea-Zera’s Love kit-a beautiful kit in soft colors. You can use this kit for making layouts with photos of your child, husband, wife .. anyone you love.  The kit contains: 12 papers, 18 elements, and 3 wordarts.  You can find it in Crea-Zera’s store at the Digital Scrap Cafe.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend.
